The International Academic Mobility Program for foreign students was created with the objective of offering qualification opportunities for young people who want to enjoy an intercultural experience, living with the Brazilian reality during a certain period of their university life. This is done by conducting academic and professional experiences in Brazil, thus fulfilling the desire to have an international experience.
The Unis Group, through bilateral collaboration agreements signed with foreign higher education institutions and through participation in international academic cooperation networks, can welcome students from all five continents to participate in the Mobility Program, as it applies for receive foreign students from different nationalities and countries.
The International Academic Mobility Program is a way to ensure institutional qualification through constant curriculum innovation and the insertion of the university in the panorama of national and foreign higher education institutions, which have opted for the internationalization process.
Foreign students who choose to participate in the Unis Group Academic Mobility Program may carry out their academic activities at any of the units located in the cities of:
- Três Pontas
- Pouso Alegre
The selection criteria of the unit where the exchange will take place must respect the offer of the corresponding undergraduate course, as well as the offer of the desired subjects. This guidance will be provided through contact with the Unis Group’s International Relations Department, the respective course coordinator and according to the availability of places for foreign students.
The Unis Group Academic Mobility Program provides that a foreign student may stay for a term, one semester, renewable for a further period, for a maximum of one year. The activities to be performed by the foreign student must be previously approved by the course coordinators of the two universities.

- Accommodation in a double room
- Paid Internship or Research
General Requirements for Participating in the International Academic Mobility Program
Any student who belongs to any of the foreign institutions affiliated with the Unis Group is invited to participate in the International Academic Mobility Program, being sufficiently enrolled in their home institution. However, some basic requirements will guide the foreign student at the most appropriate time to be able to meet international requirements for participation in such exchange programs.
The Unis Group, in order to prioritize the academic excellence of the exchange programs will observe if the student fulfills the following prerequisites:
- Be regularly enrolled in any course offered by the affiliated institution;
- Present an adequate academic profile;
- Present an appropriate profile to an international experience;
- Be aware of housing and academic standards and commit to full compliance;
- Meet specific requirements that may be required by different programs, such as examinations of knowledge in specific areas.
The foreign student is fully responsible for the organization of the documents to be presented to the Unis Group. The validity, legality and punctuality of delivery of documents are the sole responsibility of the student, since they are personal and non-transferable documents.
The basic documentation that must be presented to participate in the International Academic Mobility Program is as follows:
- Application Form for foreign students, which should list the subjects that will be taken at Unis;
- Copy of passport;
- Proof of proficiency in Portuguese language (if any);
- Term of commitment – Standards of signed accommodation;
- Term of Commitment – Academic and Internship / Research Standards signed.

Applications for the Unis Group International Academic Mobility Program must be made according to the schedule provided by the Department of International Relations.
- Until November 15 for students wishing to exchange in the first academic semester of the Southern Hemisphere, which usually starts in February;
- Until May 15 for students wishing to exchange in the second academic semester of the Southern Hemisphere, which usually starts in August.
Upon review of the foreign student’s documents and upon confirmation of approval for the exchange, the Department of International Relations will send a correspondence to the international relations department of the student’s home university confirming their acceptance to participate in the Program. This document is official and may be used for presentation to the Brazilian authorities to obtain a temporary student visa.
Portuguese language proficiency
Foreign students wishing to participate in the Unis Group’s International Academic Mobility Program must present a certificate of proficiency in the Portuguese language in order to be able to successfully follow undergraduate subjects.
If students do not have any Portuguese language proficiency certificate, they can participate in Portuguese language classes in the Unis Group partner language courses.
